Annual awards gala shines spotlight on Pride Communications is pleased to announce that Mayor Anthony Foxx will speak at the Lowe’s Pride Awards on January 16 at the Westin in uptown Charlotte. “We are elated to have the Mayor on board,” said Dee Dixon, President and CEO of Pride Communications. “This year’s theme is ‘Sustainability for All’ and Mayor Foxx’s dedication to creating a more environmentally sustainable Charlotte makes him the perfect speaker.” Mayor Foxx began his political career in 2005, serving two terms as an At-Large representative before being elected Mayor in 2009. During his time on the city council and in his current role as Mayor, Foxx continues to work tirelessly to create more green jobs and more innovative solutions to environmental challenges in the city.
Pride is rolling out the ‘green’ carpet at this year’s event, which will also feature the ‘So You Think You Can Sing’ Karaoke Contest. The first place winner will receive an Energy-Saving Whirl-Pool Kitchen Suite courtesy of Lowe’s and the second place winner will receive a piece of estate jewelry donated by Perry’s at Southpark.
The Lowe’s Pride Awards would not be possible without its dedicated sponsors including Title Sponsor Lowe’s, and Presenting Sponsors Wachovia-A Wells Fargo Company and Bank of America. Additional sponsors include Duke Energy, Food Lion, Walmart, Coca-Cola Bottling Co.
